The HY-TEN GABION 700 STSTEM has been introduced to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of gabion retaining wall structures.
The system reduces the possibility of constructional deformation of the face of the gabion. This is achieved by generally limiting the unsupported mesh face to 700mm square (unit depth is generally 700mm) combined with the use of heavier gauge mesh to the face and rear panels. With a heavier rear panel the inclination of structures can be increased from 6 degrees to 10 degrees from the vertical without constructional problems arising.
The reduced height of the units to generally 700mm and diaphragm spacing of 700mm results in a more even distribution of mesh within the structure, which improves its performance.
The system allows for design sections to increase in height and width by nominally 300mm, producing the most cost effective design solutions.
